The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership:

I first became a fan of John Maxwell after reading Failing Forward. He has a knack for translating his years of experience into readable, informational and inspiring prose. In this book, he lends his instructive skills to illuminating the Laws of Leadership. There is a reason why this book is one of the best-selling leadership books of all time!
Volunteer Leadership: 7 Disciplines of Undisputed Success
By David Kitchens
This book was written by a friend of mine who is very good at what he does. I’ve had the opportunity to work with him through Toastmasters and have seen him in action as a leader. In this book, he talks about embracing volunteer leadership, how to overcome adverse behavior that causes teams to fail, and why helping others can lead you to fulfill your own purpose in life. This is a quick read with good information about leadership practices in the volunteer space, much of which can bet translated into other areas.
Quick! I Need to Be a Leader in 30 Days!
By Brad Dude
This book provides you with a game plan for improving leadership skills in 30 days. When I read it, I gave it a two-star review because it is a hard sell for the author’s course. However, I include it in this list because it does provide a solid overview of several leadership models and theories, as well as a 30-Day action plan with suggested reading and activities.
