Eliminating Negative Thoughts and Behaviors

Editorial Note: Negative thoughts and behaviors can greatly affect the effectiveness of your public speaking. That’s why I chose to run this particular story today. You need to believe in yourself, your topic and your abilities in order to be a good speaker.

There are self help books out there that can teach you how to take control of your life but unless you begin to want to make the change yourself, and you are ready and willing make the changes, then these books will only sit on the shelf and they will not help you. For many of us some of the reasons that we stop ourselves from succeeding is that someone has told us so many times that we are a failure and we have one to believe this repeating these conversations in our heads subconsciously while we are asleep.

These negative statements or trash prevent someone from succeeding in one’s personal life. Once we recognize that we are doing this to ourselves, then and only then, then we consciously make the changes one needs to make in order to succeed. The first step is to give yourself permission to succeed while at the same time recognizing that the you who are telling you this hour only read heeding the things they are telling themselves and their fear that you are better than they are. When they sabotage your success, then this gives them power over you.

How to Measure Your Success

Davida ShenskyBy Featured Speaker Davida Shensky

The problem is that there is a conflict between both your conscious and your conscious mind. Your conscious mind tells you that you can succeed at your unconscious mind has a list of all of the reasons why you can’t succeed. Therefore, you have to read training your thinking and your behavior so you can succeed. 10% of our thoughts are conscious and 90% of thoughts are unconscious, therefore, it is our unconscious thoughts back control how far we go in life and the ability we have you succeed at anything we choose to do.

For instance, traditional success programs tell you these are the four steps you should follow to find success in your personal life:

  1. Set your goals (know what you want)
  2. Do something (take action to reach your goals)
  3. Evaluate (am I getting closer to my goals are not?)
  4. Try again (keep changing your approach until you reach your goals)

but the reality is:

Growing As a Person – Why You Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Personal Growth

Davida ShenskyBy Featured Speaker Davida Shensky

Personal growth only happens when you recognize that you have low self-esteem. One is supposed to love their parents simply because they are your parents. The problem is as children we offer unconditional love because we expect to be loved in return. It is only as we begin to mature and recognize that what one is experiencing at the hands of their parents, is truly abuse. Just because your mother is your mother, does not give her the right to mistreat you as a child, or even a teenager, and even then after you achieve adulthood. The problem is that she may hate herself and is only treating you the way she expects to be herself. One loves their parents, but that does not mean you like the way that parent treats one. Unless one’s parents are willing to seek help with one as a family, the best thing you can do is distance yourself from them once you achieve adulthood.

As you start to change and grow, but your relationship with your parents remains toxic, the best thing you can do for yourself is to stay is our way from them as possible. One can not change their family unless they are willing to make the changes themselves, but once you change and refuse to accept their behavior in your life, then the best thing one can do for themselves is to stay away from that toxic environment, because they will continually try to pull you back and sabotage all the work you have done for yourself. The problem is when someone lacks self-esteem, they are jealous of anyone else who was successful, and specially family members, and refuse to let you be successful.

Building a Successful Business Through Public Speaking and Teleseminars

Davida ShenskyBy Featured Speaker Davida Shensky

For many professional speakers who depended on working with public seminar companies, as an independent contractor, traveling from city to city doing presentations 10 days out of the month doing seminars, they had to figure it out in another way to promote their business and build their clientele. As the Internet started to grow, companies started to spring up, where you could use the bridge lines, to do presentations for free to sell a your services to individuals as opposed to working for companies.

Companies also started to incorporate training through the Internet using teleseminars as training for their employees on various topics. This is a way that companies have been able to cut their expenses on in-house training, by outsourcing rather than hiring someone to come in house and train their employees. This also allows employees to take the training, on their time, as opposed to on the company’s time.
