This episode of the Public Speaking Super Powers Podcast features Carma’s interview with Mike Faber, an acclaimed author and expert in the art of science and leadership and sales.
Length: 11 minutes, 58 seconds
“I think you have to be born with a little bit of hubris, as well as, humility. And the hubris is the idea that you can get up on the platform and have something intelligent to say.”
~ Mike Faber
“A writer [or speaker] doesn’t have to have the answers,” Mike Faber says. “The writer has to have something to say. And I think my job as a speaker is not so much to give people answers, but it’s to prod their intellect. And to provoke them a little bit into thinking about things in new and different ways.”
In this episode, Mike talks about the power of story and provides some suggestions for finding stories from your own life that you can use in your presentations.
Mike Faber’s Big Tip: “Look back at your experience, both personally and professionally and pick out the moments where you learned … your universal truth.”
